Digital technology, tourism and geographies of inequality

Tourism is undergoing major changes in the advent of social media networks and other new forms digital technology. This has affected a number tourism related processes including marketing, destination making, travel experiences visitor feedback but also various subsectors, like hospitality, transportation tour operators. More radical than change technology itself, COVID-19 pandemic hastened questions digitality virtuality to fore (and not just there). An already substantial growing body research investigated these developments, both regarding industry subsectors it grown substantially since pandemic. Still, largely overlooked are effects on concerning inequality. paper provides an overview recent discussions this topic, presenting analysis extant material ideas where take further.
